Mahrez: "We didn't come here just to participate in the Africa Cup, but to reach the final"

Riyad Mahrez, the Algerian national team player, affirmed that his goal is to reach the final of the Africa Cup of Nations, following their 3-0 victory over Sudan. He also emphasized his belief in teamwork.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Mahrez stated: "We want to reach the final. That is the objective when any tournament begins. We didn't come just to participate. I am part of the group, and I try to help the team as much as I can, as happened today, and I hope this success continues."

He concluded: "I am happy to have secured the three points; it's been a long time since we achieved that in the Africa Cup. Today's Man of the Match award is for me, and tomorrow it will be for another player."
