Sudan Coach Appiah: "Algeria Clash a Real Test; Everything is Beautiful in Morocco"
Sudan national team coach, James Kwesi Appiah, described the upcoming match against Algeria, which opens his team's campaign in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals, as a significant challenge and a true test of the ambitions of the "Desert Hawks."
During the pre-match press conference, Appiah explained that participating in this tournament represents a unique opportunity for Sudan, stating: "We are in a major tournament, and I am happy that Sudan is part of such an event. I believe this tournament will bring some smiles to the faces of Sudanese people."
The Ghanaian coach added that the team's preparation came amidst difficulties, as no league has been held in Sudan over the past three years. He explained: "We tried to prepare the team as best as possible to deliver a good performance."
Appiah also praised the accommodation and organizational conditions his team experienced in Morocco, noting the quality of housing, food, transportation, and training. He said: "Everything is beautiful and wonderful, and I believe the African Confederation is doing an excellent job. We are here for peace; we meet and compete, and in the end, what matters is establishing peace."
