Algeria Defeats Sudan 3-0 in AFCON Opener at Moulay Hassan Stadium

The Algerian national team defeated their Sudanese counterparts 3-0 in their opening match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations group stage. The game took place at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat.
Riyad Mahrez opened the scoring for the Algerian side with an early goal in the second minute of the first half. Sudan then suffered a significant setback when Salah Eldin Adel was sent off in the 39th minute.
After the break, Mahrez returned to add Algeria's second goal in the 61st minute, before Ibrahim Maza sealed the victory with the third goal in the 85th minute.
With this result, the Algerian national team now tops Group E with three points, while their Sudanese counterparts sit at the bottom of the group with no points.
