Mahrez Scores Fastest Goal in AFCON Morocco 2025, Becomes Algeria's All-Time Top Scorer

Riyad Mahrez, the Algerian national team player, scored the fastest goal in the AFCON Morocco 2025 edition during Algeria's match against Sudan.

Mahrez found the net just 81 seconds after the opening whistle in the game held at Prince Moulay Hassan Stadium, as part of the first round of the competition's group stage.

Mahrez wasn't content with just one goal, adding his second in the 61st minute. His teammate Ibrahim Maza then sealed the 'Greens'' three goals in the 85th minute, securing a valuable three points for the Algerian national team at the start of their tournament campaign.

With these two goals, Mahrez became the Algerian national team's all-time leading scorer in the tournament's history with 8 goals, surpassing former player Lakhdar Belloumi, who had scored 6 goals.
