Aguerd: "We Played a Difficult Match Against Comoros, But We Were Confident and Aim to Win All Games"

Nayef Aguerd, defender for the Moroccan national team, spoke about the difficulty of defeating Comoros in their opening match of the Africa Cup of Nations group stage.

In press statements, Aguerd said, "The most important thing is to secure three points. Today was a difficult match because it was the opening game, and some players were making their Africa Cup of Nations debut. However, we were confident in ourselves and our players."

He continued, "The coach told us that some would start the work and others would finish the task. For example, Ayoub El Kaabi came on in the second half and scored a wonderful goal, and I am happy for him, especially in front of our fans."

Regarding the injury of his teammate Romain Saïss, Aguerd clarified, "His injury caused concern among Moroccan fans. Today, I cannot confirm whether he left the field due to a genuine injury or not. This will be determined tomorrow, and we hope his injury is minor, as we need him."
