Infantino: "Welcome to My Country Morocco... I Wish Good Luck to All Teams in AFCON, Which Will Be the Most Beautiful in History"

Gianni Infantino, President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), praised Morocco's leading position as a global sports destination during the opening of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in the country, stating that this edition would be "the most beautiful in history."

Expressions of appreciation for the Kingdom dominated his opening speech, in which he said: "Peace be upon you, Morocco. Good evening, Africa, good evening to the world. Welcome to my country, Morocco; the country of football, the country of passion, and the country of peace."

Infantino continued: "I want to thank His Majesty King Mohammed VI for welcoming us to this wonderful country, and for uniting the continent of Africa and the world."

The FIFA President added: "I wish good luck to the twenty-four teams who will compete in the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be the most beautiful in history."
