Infantino: Morocco Leading African Football to Bright Future with King Mohammed VI's Support

Gianni Infantino, President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), expressed his great pleasure at being in Rabat for the official dinner ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco. He affirmed the Kingdom's commitment to supporting and developing African football at all levels.

Through his official page, Infantino affirmed that Morocco continues to play a leading role in enhancing the sport's standing on the continent. He lauded the efforts made by King Mohammed VI, Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe, and all participating officials and national federations.

He stated on his official pages: "On the eve of what is expected to be a historic edition of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, I was pleased to receive an invitation to attend the official dinner at Chellah in Rabat, and to share this moment with Fouzi Lekjaa, members of the 54 African federations, and the Moroccan Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication."

Infantino added: "Morocco has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to football, and starting tomorrow, it will become the football capital for the entire African continent.
