Ruben Amorim: Mazraoui and Other AFCON Absences Won't Change Our Winter Plans

Ruben Amorim, Manchester United's coach, confirmed that the club is prepared to enter the winter transfer market. However, he emphasized that any moves would be limited to specific players and not aimed at addressing temporary shortages or compensating for the absence of certain players due to their participation in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), including Noussair Mazraoui.

Speaking ahead of the Aston Villa match, Amorim stated in press remarks quoted by "Goal" website: "The goal will not be to provide something at this moment, or to compensate for the loss of three players in the Africa Cup of Nations. That will not be the case. Even if we try to sign one player, it might not be the position we need most."

Amorim added that the club might only move to sign one player, even if it's not in the most critical position, with a focus on strengthening the team's long-term plans.

Noussair Mazraoui is considered the most notable absence. The Moroccan national team player is a key pillar in Walid Regragui's system and, at the same time, one of the most important elements of Amorim's tactical plan at Manchester United. The team also anticipates the departures of Amad Diallo with Ivory Coast and Bryan Mbeumo with Cameroon.

Manchester United is preparing to face Aston Villa this Sunday in the 17th round of the English Premier League, with the match scheduled for 5:30 PM (GMT +1).
