El Shaibi: 'Comoros Win Key to AFCON Success'

Mohamed El Shaibi, a Moroccan international, affirmed that hosting the Africa Cup of Nations in their home country grants his teammates a significant advantage, emphasizing that the national squad is fully aware of the immense responsibility placed upon them.

The Pyramids FC midfielder added that the national team is singularly focused on achieving victory, stating that tomorrow's match is the key to the competition, and the team will be adequately prepared for it.

El Shaibi stated during the final training session ahead of their opening match against Comoros in the “Morocco 2025” Africa Cup of Nations: “The AFCON will be in our country, and we are aware of the responsibility, focused on one goal, and we know that tomorrow’s match is the key to the competition and we will be ready for it.”

The Atlas Lions are set to begin their Africa Cup of Nations journey tomorrow, Sunday, facing Comoros at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with kick-off scheduled for 8:00 PM (GMT+1).
