Madjid Bougherra Resigns as Algeria Coach Following Arab Cup Elimination

Madjid Bougherra, coach of the Algerian national team for local players, announced his resignation from leading the 'Desert Warriors' immediately after their elimination from the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup in Qatar.

Bougherra confirmed his decision to step down, offering his apologies to Algerian fans following the team's defeat to the UAE national team in a penalty shootout (7-6), after the original and extra time ended in a 1-1 draw.

In a press statement, Bougherra said: "We succumbed to fate, and it's not the end of the world. I hope the senior national team will bring joy to Algerians in the Africa Cup of Nations."
