Arab Cup: Sudan and Algeria Play Out Goalless Draw in Group D Opener

The match between the Sudanese national team and their Algerian counterparts ended in a goalless draw (0-0) on Wednesday, as part of the first round of the group stage in the Arab Cup.
Towards the end of the first half, Algerian player Adam Ounas was sent off following a violent tackle on Sudanese player Hussein El Jazouli in the 45+4th minute.
Both teams attempted to score a breakthrough goal on multiple occasions, with the Sudanese team coming particularly close to opening the scoring and threatening Algeria's goal several times, but without success.
With this result, both the Sudanese and Algerian teams secured one point each, as they await the match between Iraq and Bahrain later today, Wednesday, at 15:30 GMT+1.
