
Esperance Announces Belaïli's ACL and Meniscus Injury, Reports Confirm Absence Up to 6 Months
Esperance Sportive de Tunis revealed on Monday the nature of the injury sustained by its Algerian player, Youcef Belaïli, during their match against Club Africain in the Tunisian League.
A statement from Esperance read: "Our player Youcef Belaïli underwent X-ray examinations today, which confirmed he suffered an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus during yesterday's match on Sunday."
The Tunisian club added in its statement: "The player will undergo surgery in the coming days."
Tunisian radio station Mosaique FM confirmed that the Algerian player will be sidelined for a maximum period of six months.
Belaïli's injury comes at a critical time, raising doubts about his potential participation in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to be held in Morocco starting December 21.
