Algerian Federation Seeks to Persuade Ethan Mbappé, Kylian's Brother, to Represent the 'Greens'
The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has contacted Fayza Lamari, mother of player Ethan Mbappé, to inquire about the status of Kylian Mbappé's younger brother.
This follows the precedent set during last October's international break when Luca Zidane, son of legend Zinedine Zidane, obtained dual nationality and made his debut for the Algerian national team. Ethan Mbappé, Kylian Mbappé's younger brother, could be the next target for the FAF, with initial soundings already made regarding his potential call-up.
According to "Fenec Football," the Algerian Federation has held discussions with Fayza Lamari, who is both Ethan's mother and agent, to assess his chances of participating in the upcoming World Cup with the "Greens." While still a rumor, the 19-year-old player, who currently plays for Lille, holds three nationalities: French, Algerian (through his mother), and Cameroonian (through his father, Wilfried Mbappé).
The potential call-up of Ethan Mbappé, who has scored two goals this season for Lille, one against Paris Saint-Germain, has sparked some criticism. This is due to the policy adopted by the Algerian Football Federation and coach Petković, which prioritizes players who have not previously represented any national team, at the expense of developing local talent.
