Ibenge (Azam FC Coach): "Wydad Are Not Invincible; We Will Face Them With a Winning Mentality"
Azam FC coach Florent Ibenge affirmed that the upcoming match against Wydad AC, scheduled for next Friday at 5 PM on the Amaan Stadium pitch in Zanzibar, will be tough and challenging. However, he stressed that the Moroccan giants "are not an invincible team."
Speaking after the first-round match, Ibenge stated, "We know that you cannot win all matches. We will prepare well for the next opponent, Wydad, a difficult team, but like everyone else, they are not unbeatable."
He added that his team would work on correcting the mistakes made in the previous match, saying, "We will watch footage of the game, analyze every detail, and do everything in our power to be ready on Friday and deliver our best performance."
Regarding Wydad's status as one of the tournament favorites, the Azam coach explained, "Wydad is a big team, and it's natural for them to be considered among the favorites. But this doesn't make things impossible; we can win if we put all the necessary elements in place."
He concluded by saying, "There is no admission of weakness; it is simply the truth. We will host Wydad with a winning mentality."
