Sektioui Monitors El Karti's Status, Two Players Tipped as Replacements for National Squad
The technical staff of the Moroccan reserve national team, led by Tarik Sektioui, is awaiting a final decision regarding Pyramids FC player Walid El Karti's participation in the Arab Cup. His club has reportedly refused to release him for the training camp, citing commitments in continental and domestic competitions.
Sektioui had previously included three players on a reserve list: Ayoub Khairi, Khalid Ait Ourkhan, and striker Walid Azaro, as a precautionary measure for any potential changes to the final squad before the tournament kicks off.
Ayoub Khairi and Khalid Ait Ourkhan remain the leading candidates to potentially replace El Karti, pending the final decision on the Pyramids player's involvement. This will be finalized before the national team departs for Qatar to compete in the Arab Cup, which is scheduled to begin on December 1st.
