Nouri's Brother: "I Miss My Brother's Voice; Without Faith, We Would Have Given Up Long Ago... This Is a Temporary Test, Abdelhak Will Recover"
Abderrahim Nouri has provided an update on the health of his brother, the Moroccan-Dutch footballer Abdelhak Nouri, expressing his deep longing to hear his brother's voice again.
In an interview with Ajax's official channel, Nouri's brother stated: "Abdelhak still retains the same sense of humor despite his current condition. He still laughs with us, which makes me smile automatically. It's difficult for people to imagine his true state, and it's hard for us to go into details to protect his privacy, but I can assure you that he shows positive emotions."
He continued: "He often laughs and seems happy, but unfortunately, he sometimes shows less positive emotions, which is completely normal. But he is truly doing well. We have been through very difficult times, but when I look at our current situation, we are very grateful. He still retains the same spirit."
"He has learned to express himself in different ways, such as raising his eyebrow or through his body language. It's like a parent with an infant; the mother completely reads her child, knowing exactly what they want from their moans or cries, do you understand? You can compare it to that," Nouri's brother elaborated.
He added: "We truly see him as a spirit. It depends on your outlook on life. I understand that some people might think this is the end, and in that case, it becomes very difficult, even more so. If we didn't have a degree of faith, I would honestly say that we would have given up a long time ago, but we don't view life that way. For us, this is a temporary test. We believe we will see him again in full health and well-being."
He concluded: "This period is very difficult, a tough test, but we have now accepted it. The only thing we struggle with is our longing for him, his voice, hearing him speak. Sometimes I see videos of him talking and joking with us, and that is hard to watch. But we are grateful, and we should be happy that he is still with us."
