Pyramids FC Rejects Walid El Karti's Call-Up to Morocco for Arab Cup

Egyptian club Pyramids FC has decided not to allow its Moroccan player, Walid El Karti, to join the national reserve team for the upcoming Arab Cup tournament in Qatar, according to multiple sources within the club.

Egyptian press reports confirmed that Pyramids' management appreciates El Karti's desire to represent his national team and commends the players' commitment to national team call-ups. However, the request was denied due to match scheduling considerations. The tournament falls outside FIFA international windows, and the club is currently facing crucial fixtures in the Egyptian Premier League and the Intercontinental Championship, compounded by several absences and injuries within the squad.

The same sources added that club officials will continue their communications with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) to exempt the player from participation, while keeping the door open for further discussion should he strongly insist on joining the national team. This development follows a previous instance where the technical staff of the Egyptian reserve team excluded all Pyramids players from their squad due to the club's refusal to postpone its league matches, thereby preventing their involvement in the tournament.
