Olympique Marseille will face Nice on Friday evening without several key players, most notably Moroccan defender Nayef Aguerd, who is still receiving treatment after sustaining a severe injury.

The club confirmed that Aguerd is suffering from a groin strain and is undergoing daily treatment and continuous monitoring of his recovery. Coach Roberto De Zerbi emphasized the player's importance to the team's defensive system.

Speaking at a press conference held on Thursday, the Italian coach stated: "Aguerd is an irreplaceable player, but we have to play even in his absence. Balerdi is returning, and so is Kondogbia. Medina is still injured, and Murillo picked up an injury with his national team."

He continued: "Aguerd's absence is impactful and significant, but we must collect points and deliver a good performance despite these absences."

De Zerbi added that the Moroccan defender's injury is "painful" for the team, given his standing within the squad. He stressed that Marseille must adapt to this situation ahead of their clash against Nice in the 13th round of the French League.
