Hugo Broos: "Currently, I See No Reason to Call Up Lorch to the South Africa National Team Despite His Brilliance with Wydad"
South Africa national team coach, Belgian Hugo Broos, confirmed that he is not currently considering calling up South African Wydad AC player Thembinkosi Lorch to the national squad, despite his recent strong performances with the Moroccan club.
Broos stated in a media interview: "Lorch was with us years ago when he was playing for Orlando Pirates, and he was at a good level then. But after that, his performance declined, and he was out of the squad. He then moved to Mamelodi Sundowns at Rulani's request, but he didn't play much there."
The Belgian coach added: "It's true that he's performing well now in Morocco, but for me, this is not the future. Perhaps if I didn't have other options, I might call him up, but currently, I see no reason for him to be part of the national team."
This statement comes at a time when Lorch has begun to regain his form with Wydad AC, delivering distinguished performances in recent matches in both the Botola Pro and the CAF Confederation Cup competitions.
