Regragui on Ziyech's Wydad Move: "Anyone Would Be Happy to See Hakim on the Pitch; We Hope He Returns to His Usual Level"
Morocco national team coach Walid Regragui expressed his great happiness at Hakim Ziyech's return to the pitch following his transfer to Wydad AC, considering this move a significant gain for Moroccan football, and for the professional league in particular.
Speaking at the press conference to announce the "Atlas Lions" squad for the matches against Mozambique and Uganda, Regragui stated: "Congratulations to Ziyech. Anyone would be happy to see him on the pitch, as this is what we have been waiting for for about five months. We wish him success, and we always want to see Hakim great and shining on the field."
The "Atlas Lions" coach added that Ziyech's move to Wydad represents a strong boost for the professional league. He explained: "Wydad has signed a top-class player, one of the best players in the history of the national team. This is fantastic not only for the club but also for Moroccan football as a whole."
Regragui also praised the return of several Moroccan internationals to the league, believing their presence will contribute to transferring experience to young players. He remarked: "It's great to see the return of Nordin Amrabat, Younes Abdelhamid, Khalid Boutaïb, and others. These players will add significant value with their experience and will delight our fans."
Regragui concluded his statement by saying: "We now hope that Hakim plays regularly and regains his usual level. I wish him all the best, God willing."
