Moroccan international Munir El Haddadi, who recently completed a move to Esteghlal Tehran, has revealed the reasons behind his decision to play in the Iranian league, alongside his personal and international aspirations.

In an interview with "africafoot," El Haddadi stated: "My transfer to Iran came as a result of an offer that aligns with my sporting and financial objectives. I chose Esteghlal Tehran to return to the spotlight through the Asian competition."

Addressing a potential return to the Moroccan national team, El Haddadi added: "My desire is to rejoin the national squad, despite the challenging nature of the task. The atmosphere with Morocco is always fantastic, especially during the Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup, which is a global event. The most important thing is that we succeeded in qualifying."

Regarding his communication with national coach Walid Regragui, Munir clarified: "There is currently no direct contact. Of course, the coach seeks players who are in top form, while I am focused on delivering my best for the club and working diligently to regain my place in the national team. The final decision rests with the coach, but a return to the national team would be a genuine reward."
