The Best Awards: Bounou and Hakimi Nominated for FIFA FIFPRO World XI 2025

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced on Thursday the list of nominees for the 2025 World XI, part of "The Best" Awards. The list features 88 nominated players, with 22 players in each of the four positions: goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and forwards.

The selection of nominees was based on players' outstanding performances during the period from August 11, 2024, to August 2, 2025. Public voting will enable fans to contribute to determining the final lineup of the world's best 11 players.

The list of nominees includes Moroccan players Yassine Bounou in goal and Achraf Hakimi in defense.

Bounou and Hakimi's nominations come in recognition of the high levels they demonstrated with their respective clubs, Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia and Paris Saint-Germain of France, during the past season. Their strong presence with the Moroccan national team in continental and international competitions also contributed to their selection.

The winners will be announced during FIFA's annual "The Best" Awards ceremony, which celebrates the season's most prominent players and coaches and is considered one of the most anticipated football events worldwide.
