Officially: PSG Confirms Hakimi Suffers Severe Left Ankle Sprain, No Return Date Set

French club Paris Saint-Germain announced on Wednesday the nature of the injury sustained by Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi against Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening, during the fourth round of the UEFA Champions League group stage.

The Parisian club issued an official statement regarding Hakimi's injury, stating: "Achraf Hakimi is suffering from a severe left ankle sprain, which will keep him out of action for several weeks."

Meanwhile, press reports indicated that Hakimi is expected to miss the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations, but could be available for the knockout rounds should the Moroccan national team advance past the first round.

Hakimi sustained a significant ankle injury following a forceful tackle from Bayern Munich player Luis Diaz, which forced him to leave the field in tears minutes before the end of the first half.
