Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning UEFA Champions League title holders, suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Bayern Munich in their match on Tuesday evening, as part of the fourth round of the continental competition.

The Bavarian side started the match strongly, with Luis Diaz opening the scoring early in the fourth minute, before the same player added a second goal in the 32nd minute. Paris's sole goal came from João Neves in the 74th minute, reducing the deficit, but his teammates were unable to complete a comeback.

Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi started the match but was forced to leave the field in tears in the 45+2nd minute after sustaining a serious ankle injury following a strong challenge from Luis Diaz, who was shown a direct red card for his violent tackle.

This injury is a significant blow to Hakimi and his team, especially as it comes at a crucial stage of the season, less than two months before the start of the Africa Cup of Nations. This raises concerns about the Moroccan star's readiness to participate with his national team in the upcoming continental tournament.
