Pending Official Confirmation: Hakimi Out for Six Weeks, AFCON Participation in Doubt

Spanish press reports have revealed the potential duration of Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi's absence from the field, following his injury in his team Paris Saint-Germain's match against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

The Spanish newspaper "AS" confirmed that Hakimi is suffering from a syndesmosis rupture (an ankle joint injury involving ligaments between the two lower leg bones) with slight involvement of the deltoid ligament.

The newspaper explained that treatment requires two weeks of immobilization, followed by a rehabilitation period of at least four to six weeks.

The medical staff will continue to monitor Hakimi's condition, as his readiness to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) must be assessed.

Hakimi sustained a serious ankle injury during the match against Bayern Munich, following a strong tackle from player Luis Diaz, which forced him to leave the field in pain and tears just minutes before the end of the first half.

This injury comes at a very sensitive time, raising doubts about Hakimi's potential participation in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to be held in Morocco starting December 21st.
