Bayern Munich's Stanisic Comments on Diaz's "Violent" Tackle on Hakimi: "We Thanked Him (Laughs)... Just Kidding!"

Bayern Munich defender Josip Stanisic sparked controversy after making an ill-advised joke while discussing teammate Luis Diaz's violent tackle on Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi.

Hakimi sustained a serious ankle injury during the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich, following a robust challenge from Luis Diaz. The Moroccan international was forced to leave the pitch in pain just minutes before halftime in the match between the Parisian club and its Bavarian opponent.

When asked if Luis Diaz had apologized to the team at halftime, Stanisic replied: "No, he didn't apologize. He was simply happy, just like us, with the victory."

He continued: "We thanked him (laughs), just kidding! I believe we will analyze everything that happened later, and I think he himself knows that next time he shouldn't tackle in that manner again."
