Paris Mayor Prioritizes Sale of Parc des Princes to PSG
Emmanuel Grégoire, the Deputy Mayor of Paris, has affirmed his desire to sell the Parc des Princes stadium to Paris Saint-Germain, indicating that this approach represents the priority option for the local administration at present. Speaking to BFM TV, Grégoire emphasized the importance of the Parisian club remaining in its historic home, considering the team's continued presence at the sports facility a fundamental goal that both parties seek to achieve.
The Deputy Mayor of the French capital clarified that negotiations between the involved parties have already commenced confidentially. He confirmed that the intention to sell is linked to the necessity of developing the sports facility to keep pace with the club's ambitions. Emmanuel Grégoire stated his desire for the team to remain at its current location, saying: "We have started discussions in a discreet manner, and my priority option remains the sale to the club, provided that substantial financial sums are injected to acquire a stadium that aligns with the team's sporting status." This step aims to enable the club to invest more in infrastructure and develop the stadium to suit its global sporting status.
In the same vein, the French official believes this move will allow the club to undertake necessary upgrades. However, he made the completion of the process contingent on the sports management's ability to allocate substantial investments to enhance the stadium's efficiency. These statements also reflect a shift in the relationship between Paris City Hall and the club's management, following a period of anticipation regarding the future of the Parc des Princes and the possibility of the team relocating to another stadium in the future.
