Luis Enrique Becomes Most Decorated Coach in Paris Saint-Germain History
Spanish coach Luis Enrique secured his third Champions League title after his team, Paris Saint-Germain, defeated English side Arsenal in the final held in Budapest, the Hungarian capital. The Parisian team clinched the trophy with a 4-3 penalty shootout victory after the match ended in a 1-1 draw following regular and extra time.
With this triumph, the 56-year-old coach has become the most successful in Paris Saint-Germain's history, accumulating 12 titles. He surpasses the previous record of 11 trophies held by Laurent Blanc, who achieved this during his tenure between 2013 and 2016.
This third title places Enrique among an elite group of European coaches who have won the trophy three times, a list that includes Bob Paisley, Pep Guardiola, and Zinedine Zidane. Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti holds the historical record with five titles.
The Spanish manager's continental titles are distributed as one trophy won with Barcelona in 2015 and two with his current club, Paris Saint-Germain. It is also worth noting that his first victory with the Catalan club came against Italian side Juventus with a 3-1 scoreline.
