Paris Saint-Germain Crowned Champions League Winners for Second Consecutive Time, Dembélé Reassures Fans
French club Paris Saint-Germain clinched their second consecutive UEFA Champions League title after defeating English side Arsenal 4-3 in a penalty shootout. The final match had ended in a 1-1 draw after both regular and extra time.
Following the final showdown, forward Ousmane Dembélé, who was awarded the Golden Ball and scored his team's only goal, allayed fears regarding his late departure from the field. Speaking to French channel Canal Plus, he confirmed that his exit was due to muscle cramps resulting from significant physical exertion, not a worrying injury. Dembélé stated: “It was just muscle cramps; everyone suffered from cramps at the end of the match.”
Dembélé appeared proud of the Parisian club's journey throughout the current football season, which culminated in a successful title defense. The French forward added, speaking about the collective effort made to reach the podium: “We worked very hard all season to be able to achieve the title for the second consecutive year,” noting that this edition of the tournament represents a fair reward for all the team's dedication throughout their campaign in the continental competition.
