
Jordanian King Honors Jamal Sellami with Order of Independence After World Cup Qualification
Moroccan national coach Jamal Sellami received a high royal honor from King Abdullah II of Jordan, following the historic achievement he made with the Jordanian national team: qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals for the first time in “Al-Nashama’s” history.
The Jordanian monarch awarded the components of the Jordanian national team with the Order of Independence, First Class, in recognition of the high levels of performance demonstrated by the team, in addition to achieving runner-up status in the Arab Cup.
The medal was presented during an official ceremony held at Al-Husseiniya Palace, attended by team captain Ihsan Haddad, Jamal Sellami, and the players of the Jordanian national team, amidst a celebratory atmosphere marking this unprecedented achievement.
Sellami has earned widespread praise within Jordan after successfully leading “Al-Nashama” to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals for the first time in their history.
The Jordanian national team is preparing for its first World Cup appearance, having been drawn into Group 10 alongside Argentina, Algeria, and Austria.
