
Led by Al-Salami, Jordan National Team Draws 2-2 in Friendly Against Costa Rica
The Jordanian national team drew 2-2 with Costa Rica in a friendly match played today, Friday, as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Al-Nashama, the nickname for the Jordanian team, opened the scoring from a penalty successfully converted by Bahaa Faisal in the 50th minute. His teammate Ibrahim Sabra then added a second goal in the 76th minute.
However, Costa Rica mounted a late comeback, scoring two goals in the 84th and 90+1 minutes to level the score.
The match was part of a four-nation tournament taking place in Antalya, Turkey, featuring Jordan, Costa Rica, Iran, and Nigeria.
Jordan is currently in Group 10 of the World Cup qualifiers, alongside reigning champions Argentina, Algeria, and Austria.
