
Wahbi Names 28-Man Provisional Squad for World Cup Preparatory Camp, Includes Boufal, Louza, Benjdida
Morocco national team coach Mohamed Wahbi has announced the squad called up for a preparatory training camp, ahead of finalizing the list for the World Cup tournament.
Wahbi extended invitations to 28 players, including Sofiane Boufal, who plays for Le Havre in France; Sofiane Benjdida, a forward for Maghreb Fez; Imran Louza and Othman Maamma, both from England's Watford; and Yassine Bakraoui, who plays in the Portuguese league with Estoril, among other names.
Meanwhile, the squad saw the absence of several key players from the Moroccan national team. These include Yassine Bounou, goalkeeper for Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal; Achraf Hakimi, defender for France's Paris Saint-Germain; Brahim Díaz, Real Madrid player; and Azzedine Ounahi, who plays for Girona.

The Moroccan national team will play three friendly matches. The first will be against Burundi next Tuesday at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, behind closed doors. They will then face Madagascar and Norway on June 2 and June 7, respectively.
