Rachid Taoussi Declines Liberia National Team Coaching Offer
Moroccan coach Rachid Taoussi has declined the offer to manage the Liberia national football team, despite recent negotiations with the Liberian Football Association.
According to available information, Taoussi opted not to take on the role due to personal commitments in Morocco, in addition to the current circumstances which did not facilitate his acceptance of the offer, especially after a period spent working on the African continent.
Taoussi is a well-known coaching figure in Moroccan football, having previously managed several national clubs, including Raja CA, FAR Rabat, and Maghreb de Fès. He also coached the Moroccan national team between 2012 and 2013, in addition to having coaching experiences elsewhere on the African continent.
The Liberian FA had been seeking to sign a coach with African experience, aiming to restore the national team's continental prominence and qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations finals, a tournament they have not participated in since the 2002 edition.
