Paris Saint-Germain Nearing Luis Enrique Contract Extension Until 2030
Paris Saint-Germain's management is reportedly close to finalizing a contract extension for head coach Luis Enrique until 2030, with reports indicating positive progress in talks between both parties towards a final agreement.
This move comes as the Parisian club successfully reached the UEFA Champions League final for the second consecutive time, an achievement not seen since Real Madrid accomplished it between 2016 and 2018.
Nasser Al-Khelaifi, President of Paris Saint-Germain, expressed strong admiration for the work of the Spanish coach, describing it as "the best decision" he has made in his tenure with the club.
Al-Khelaifi also stated that Luis Enrique is "the best coach in the world," explaining that he had sought to sign him for 15 years due to his exceptional technical and personal abilities in managing daily operations, dealing with players, and the media.
Al-Khelaifi believes Enrique's approach goes beyond merely leading the team. He said, "He has revolutionized football, not just within Paris Saint-Germain, but in the game as a whole," adding that the "warrior spirit" Enrique instilled in the players has been crucial in achieving continental successes.
The Parisian management emphasizes that this long-term extension is part of a future plan aimed at gathering the best young talents to work under the Spanish coach's leadership.
In the context of the club's future aspirations, the Paris Saint-Germain president also hinted at the possibility of seeing players from the team win the Ballon d'Or award within the next five years, attributing this to the current technical and leadership stability.
These steps reflect the club's desire to build a sustainable sporting project centered on Enrique's technical leadership, as he successfully guided the team to the final match after overcoming German giants Bayern Munich in the semi-final.
