After Shining with Genk, El Ouahdi Attracts Interest from PSV and French Clubs
Genk's Moroccan right-back, Zakaria El Ouahdi, appears set for a departure amid growing interest from several major European clubs.
The 24-year-old has become one of the most sought-after names in the transfer market, despite his contract with the Belgian club running until the summer of 2028, following his impressive performances for Genk.
According to Belgian website "voetbalnieuws," PSV Eindhoven is among the leading clubs interested in signing the Moroccan international. They have reportedly placed him at the top of their target list to replace American full-back Sergino Dest, who is expected to depart.
The Dutch club views El Ouahdi as an ideal option thanks to his consistent performance and his ability to contribute both offensively and defensively, making him a strong candidate for a starting position in the team.
Information suggests that competition for El Ouahdi's services will not be easy, given strong interest from French clubs, notably Olympique Lyon and Olympique Marseille, who are closely monitoring the player's situation.
For their part, Genk recognizes the growing interest in their Moroccan star and hopes to benefit financially from any potential deal. His current market value is estimated at around 15 million euros, after the club acquired him just three years ago for approximately 2.5 million euros.
