El Ouahdi: 'I Think About the World Cup Every Day; I Hope to Be in the Squad and Will Do My Best to Be There'
Moroccan international Zakaria El Ouahdi, a Genk player, expressed his happiness after being crowned the best African player in the Belgian league, highlighting his ambition to be part of the national team squad in the World Cup finals.
El Ouahdi said in a press statement: "It is a great honor for me to win this award and to be among the list of winners, alongside big names like Mbark Boussoufa and Romelu Lukaku, and this can certainly have an important impact."
The Moroccan player also spoke about his future ambitions, foremost among them participating in the World Cup finals with the Moroccan national team, confirming that he works daily to achieve this goal, saying: "The World Cup is every player's dream, and I think about it daily." He continued: "I will try to be present, and to get playing minutes with the Moroccan national team, and I will do everything I have for that."
El Ouahdi concluded his statements by emphasizing his continued work and diligence to develop his level, aiming to secure a place in the national team squad during upcoming events and achieve his dream of participating in the World Cup.
