Enrique to Implement Rotation Policy Amid PSG's Fixture Congestion
Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique has announced a comprehensive player rotation strategy for the upcoming period to manage the team's demanding fixture schedule. This decision comes as the French club faces nine matches in just 27 days, with the Spanish coach aiming to manage the squad's physical condition and prepare key players for major upcoming commitments across various competitions.
Enrique affirmed in his statements that overcoming the current physical challenges requires active participation from all squad members without exception. Luis Enrique said: "We will play nine matches in the next 27 days, an average of one match every three days, and we must overcome this situation by relying on all players." This move follows the Parisian team's recent setback, a 2-1 loss to Lyon, which was the club's first defeat in approximately a month and a half.
Regarding the team's health status, the club will be without Portuguese midfielder Vitinha for Wednesday's match against Nantes due to inflammation in his right heel. Meanwhile, his compatriot Nuno Mendes continues his rehabilitation program to recover from a thigh injury. Paris Saint-Germain is scheduled to play Nantes and Angers domestically before clashing with Germany's Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-finals next Tuesday.
