Luis Enrique Rejects Excessive Signings, Sticks to Player Rotation at PSG
Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique has reiterated his commitment to the club's transfer market strategy, deeming it illogical to have signed a large number of players over the past summer and winter windows.
Enrique explained that the team's success stems from the performance and spirit of the current squad, indicating the club's intention to tackle future challenges with the same transfer philosophy next year.
The Spanish coach defended this approach despite a series of injuries affecting prominent players such as Fabian Ruiz, Nuno Mendes, and Vitinha. Enrique stated, "It would have been ridiculous to sign too many players." As he prepares for upcoming clashes against Nantes in Ligue 1 and Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-finals, he emphasized the pivotal role of substitute players within his current system.
Enrique expressed his full confidence in the reserve players, asserting that the club's achievements last season were thanks to their effective contributions and dedication in training. He said, "What I think about substitutes is that we won everything last year thanks to this type of player. They always trained well and played very well when required, and this year is going the same way."
Regarding squad rotation management, Enrique clarified that he adopts a comprehensive vision aimed at winning every match, regardless of the players involved. He commented, "If you don't know how I manage rotation after three years here, it's up to you to analyze it. It's necessary to see all of this in a panoramic way." These statements come as the team prepares to face Bayern Munich on April 28, with the health status of Vitinha, who sustained an ankle injury, and Fabian Ruiz, who is gradually regaining his rhythm after playing limited minutes against Lyon, under close observation.
