Portuguese Cardoso Reaches Third Consecutive CAF Champions League Final
Portuguese coach Miguel Cardoso continues his strong presence in the CAF Champions League, having reached the final for the third consecutive time after his Mamelodi Sundowns team qualified at the expense of Tunisia's Espérance Sportive de Tunis.
Sundowns secured their qualification after winning the second leg 1-0, mirroring the result of the first leg. This meant the South African side booked their place in the final with a 2-0 aggregate victory.
Cardoso is considered one of the most prominent coaching names in Africa currently, having led Espérance to the 2024 final, where they lost to Egypt's Al Ahly. He then reached the final again in the 2025 edition with Sundowns, but lost on that occasion to Pyramids FC.
In the final match, Mamelodi Sundowns will face the winner of the anticipated clash between AS FAR and RS Berkane, a summit that will determine the champion of the current edition.
