Spanish FA President Visits Mexico for World Cup Preparations, Joint Development Agreements
Rafael Lozano, President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), has commenced his country's preparations for the upcoming World Cup finals with an official visit to Mexico. The visit included stops in Guadalajara, Puebla, and the capital, Mexico City.
During his trip, the President held a series of meetings with government authorities, the Spanish Embassy, and the Mexican Football Federation. These discussions aimed to coordinate logistical arrangements for Spain's anticipated participation in the global tournament scheduled for this summer.
The visit culminated in the signing of cooperation agreements with the Mexican side at the High Performance Center in Mexico City. This partnership seeks to enhance the exchange of expertise between professionals in both countries, including talent exchange among referees, coaches, and technical staff, to elevate the level of joint sports development. Lozano also inspected the sports facilities designated for official and friendly matches to ensure their readiness before the start of the competitions.
The Spanish national team will play its final group stage match in Guadalajara against Uruguay. Additionally, a friendly match between Spain and Peru has been scheduled for June 8 in Puebla, serving as a final rehearsal before the World Cup kicks off.
In related news, Guadalajara will see the establishment of a "Casa España" (Spain House) in the city center. This will serve as a destination and attraction for the thousands of fans expected to attend and support the Spanish national team.
These initiatives are undertaken given the significant Spanish community residing in Puebla, which underscores the importance of selecting these cities to host the Spanish national team's preparations. Through this tour, the Royal Spanish Football Federation aims to provide the best technical and fan-related conditions for the team before it competes in the global tournament, part of which Mexico will host.
