En-Nesyri Suffers Muscle Injury Against Al-Hazem, Undergoes Tests Today to Determine Absence Period
Al-Ittihad's Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri is set to undergo medical examinations on Sunday at a specialized center in Jeddah. This follows a muscle injury he sustained during Friday's match against Al-Hazem in the 27th round of the Saudi Pro League.
Saudi newspaper "Arriyadiyah" reported that En-Nesyri, who was replaced by Awad Al-Nashri in the 90th minute, is suffering from a muscle injury. The medical examination will determine the nature of his rehabilitation program ahead of Wednesday's match against Neom.
Al-Ittihad currently sits sixth in the Pro League standings with 45 points, trailing Al-Taawoun on goal difference. Al-Taawoun is scheduled to face Al-Hilal in a highly anticipated match later today.
It is worth noting that En-Nesyri was among the prominent absentees from national coach Mohamed Wahbi's first training camp, with Wahbi opting to call up Soufiane Rahimi, Yasser Zabiri, and Ayoub El Kaabi as attacking options.
