FIFA Delegation Visits Morocco to Inspect 2030 World Cup Host Cities
A delegation from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) is preparing to visit Morocco as part of an inspection tour for the preparations to host the 2030 World Cup finals, which are set to be jointly organized by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal.
According to an official statement from the Spanish Football Federation, the FIFA delegation will arrive in Morocco immediately after concluding its inspection tour in Spain and Portugal, as part of a series of visits to the three host nations for the tournament.
The visit is expected to include inspections of the cities nominated to host World Cup matches. The objective is to assess the progress of stadium renovation and construction works, as well as to evaluate the readiness of the infrastructure associated with organizing this global football event.
During its stay in Morocco, the FIFA delegation is also anticipated to hold meetings with government officials, representatives from the concerned cities, and various football stakeholders. These discussions will aim to evaluate the progress of projects related to stadiums, transportation, and services, as part of the ongoing preparations for the World Cup.
Morocco had previously submitted a bid dossier featuring six stadiums across six cities: the Grand Stade de Fès in Fès, Stade Hassan II in Casablanca, Grand Stade d'Agadir in Agadir, Grand Stade de Marrakech in Marrakech, Grand Stade de Tanger in Tangier, and Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
