Enrique: 'This Performance Was Bad, Far From Our Usual Standard'
Paris Saint-Germain suffered a 3-1 defeat against Monaco in a match where the team delivered an unconvincing performance, just five days before their anticipated UEFA Champions League clash against Chelsea.
Spanish coach Luis Enrique acknowledged his team's subpar display, noting that the level was not as expected. He emphasized that he anticipates a positive response from his players starting from Wednesday.
Enrique told beIN Sports: "We must review the match to judge it, but I can say that we significantly lacked precision, and this is difficult against a team with positive momentum like Monaco."
Regarding the upcoming Chelsea fixture, Enrique added: "There is no concern, even if this performance was not the best before playing a Champions League match. This performance was bad, and far from what we usually deliver, and we must correct that."
Paris Saint-Germain is set to host English club Chelsea next Wednesday (20:00 GMT) for the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.
