Paris Saint-Germain Qualify for Champions League Round of 16 Despite Late Draw with Monaco
Paris Saint-Germain secured their qualification for the next round of the UEFA Champions League after drawing 2-2 with visitors Monaco today in the second leg of the last-16 at the Parc des Princes in Paris. The Parisian side advanced with a 5-4 aggregate score over both legs.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 45th minute through Maghnes Akliouche. Defender Marquinhos then equalized for the hosts in the 60th minute, before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia put the Parisian side ahead just six minutes later with their second goal. Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi also featured in the starting lineup for PSG.
The back-and-forth continued between both sides until the final moments when Jordan Teze snatched an equalizer for Monaco in the first minute of stoppage time. However, this result was not enough to alter the qualification outcome, which Paris Saint-Germain had secured thanks to their earlier advantage from the first leg.
