Paris Saint-Germain Fan Group Imposes Internal Sanctions Following Clashes
The "Collectif Ultras Paris" (CUP) announced disciplinary sanctions against a group of its members following confrontations between club supporters outside the stadium after Paris Saint-Germain's match against Metz last Saturday in Ligue 1. The association confirmed that decisive measures have been taken to ensure calm and prevent those involved in the incidents from attending the team's upcoming home match in the domestic competition.
The association clarified that it takes full responsibility for the actions depicted in videos that circulated across social media platforms, documenting moments of conflict between fans. In an official statement, the "Collectif Ultras Paris" said, "As always, we do not shy away from our responsibilities and are fully aware of the scale of the problem," reflecting the fan organization's commitment to addressing the disorder that followed the Parisian club's 3-0 victory.
French media reports indicated that the punitive measures included banning members from the "Paname Cohortes" and "Urban Paris" groups from accessing the famous "Virage Auteuil" stand at the Parc des Princes stadium. This step comes ahead of the anticipated match on Wednesday evening against Monaco, with the association stating, "From this moment, decisions have been made, and in order to achieve coordinated calm, the individuals concerned will not be present this evening," thus confirming the exclusion of elements involved in the previous acts of violence.
