Laporta: 'Some Thought We Were Crazy When We Rejected PSG's €250m Yamal Offer'
Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed details of a massive financial offer made by Paris Saint-Germain to sign young player Lamine Yamal when he was just 17 years old.
Speaking to "Jijantes," Laporta indicated that Barcelona unequivocally rejected parting ways with their promising player, despite the enormous financial value proposed by the Parisian club. He added: "When Paris Saint-Germain offered us 250 million euros for Lamine Yamal and we refused, he was still 17 years old."
Laporta further stated: "Some people thought we were crazy" after Barcelona rejected Paris Saint-Germain's offer.
Paris Saint-Germain reportedly saw Yamal as the ideal successor to Kylian Mbappé, who moved to Real Madrid in the summer of 2024. However, Barcelona's stance remained firm from the outset, with no intention of selling one of the most prominent young talents to emerge from their "La Masia" academy.
