Hansi Flick, Barcelona's new coach, has announced the implementation of strict new financial penalties for players who are late for scheduled appointments, particularly on crucial match days. Players Pedri and Ferran Torres confirmed that a 10-minute delay on a match day will result in a €40,000 fine.

On another note, reports suggest that both Pedri and Ferran Torres requested the implementation of this new system, preferring to pay a financial penalty rather than miss any match. Pedri also remarked, «If you are 20 minutes late on a match day, it's better to stay home».
Hansi Flick took charge of Barcelona in the summer of 2024, and these measures aim to instill discipline within the Catalan squad. It is worth noting that Barcelona player Jules Kounde was benched last season in a match against Alaves due to a lack of punctuality.
