Franck Haise: "I Came for Stade Rennais, Not for a Reunion"
Stade Rennais officially announced Franck Haise as their new coach. During his press conference, Haise addressed the newly coined nickname "Racing Club Rennes," which has been attributed to the club.
Haise clarified that his decision to join was specifically for Stade Rennais, emphasizing his deep connection to the club where he previously worked as a youth coach. Franck Haise stated: "I didn't come for Arnaud, I didn't come to meet Laurent (Bessière). I came for Stade Rennais. That's all, simply."
The nickname stems from the presence of several individuals at Stade Rennais who previously worked at RC Lens, such as President Arnaud Pouille, who served as RC Lens's general manager for seven seasons. Haise described accepting the position as a "clear choice" for him, stressing that few clubs would have enticed him out of his sabbatical.
It is worth noting that Stade Rennais's sporting director, Loïc Désiré, has known Franck Haise for 20 years. Furthermore, Haise's assistant, Yoann Ramaré, was born and trained at Stade Rennais.
