Royal Army Loyalists Association Condemns Al Ahly Fan Behavior, Demands Future Match Bans
The Royal Army Loyalists Association issued a public statement following the events that occurred during the match between AS FAR (Royal Army) and Al Ahly, which, according to the statement, witnessed unsportsmanlike conduct from some fans of the opposing team.
According to the statement, a copy of which was received by "El Botola" website, the match saw some fans of the opposing team throwing bottles and projectiles onto the pitch and its surroundings. The association deemed this as unsportsmanlike behavior that endangered the safety of players, technical staff, and spectators.
The association stated in its communiqué: "We condemn all irresponsible actions that undermine the spirit of fair competition and tarnish the image of African football."
The association further affirmed in the same statement: "We explicitly call on the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to open an urgent investigation into these events and to take the necessary disciplinary measures in accordance with the applicable regulations, to preserve the principle of equal opportunities and the safety of all involved parties."
It also emphasized: "Football is an ethical message before it is merely a sports competition. We also demand the application of sanctions stipulated in CAF regulations, including the possibility of banning the involved fans from attending future matches, to ensure such behavior is not repeated in the future."
Concluding the statement, the association reiterated its support for the AS FAR team, commending the sportsmanship displayed by the players and their staff despite the charged atmosphere.
