AS FAR Condemns Al Ahly Fan Behavior, Petitions CAF for Sanctions
AS FAR management has strongly condemned what it described as "unsportsmanlike conduct" by some Al Ahly SC fans. This behavior included throwing bottles at the team's players and technical staff, which posed a direct threat to their safety during the match.
The management confirmed it has initiated the necessary legal procedures by contacting the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The club is demanding the application of sanctions stipulated in the current regulations, to uphold the principles of sportsmanship and ensure the safety of all participants in the competition.
This development comes as AS FAR officially qualified for the CAF Champions League quarter-finals. The Moroccan side secured their spot after drawing with Al Ahly SC in the final match of the group stage, maintaining second place in Group B with nine points.
